Separate The Good From The Bad In Path Of Exile

Path of Exile is a free action RPG in which players are abandoned on the dark shores of the continent of Wraeclast, a cursed criminal colony full of horrors. The game focuses on combat and history, and players must improve their characters through the team and gems to survive the biggest challenges.

In this article we are going to separate the good from the bad.

THE GOOD

Skill tree - The skill tree is an open network of nodes by which players can navigate as they please, defining their characters as they like. There are thousands of possible final results.

Free - The game has a very solid f2p system, a very good job so that money does not influence relations and confrontations between players.

Gems - Gems grant different powers, such as throwing fire, attacking different targets or increasing damage. They can be linked to objects, resulting in an infinity of combinations that create unique spells and attacks.

Leagues - Unique servers with their own rules. Each player can only have one character and there are leagues with hardcore mode (when your character dies he is eliminated from the league and placed in a normal league).

Trading - Path of Exile does not have a specific currency; it is the players who exchange their belongings according to the demand, negotiating with each other.

The expected Devil 3 - Although Diablo 3 has done much to improve, Path of Exile still retains the title of being the spiritual successor of Diablo 2 in the minds of the players, with its classic style. For many it is the game that Diablo 3 should have been.

THE BAD

Offline world - The game has very interesting concepts, such as the absence of market / auction house. The trade occurs between players, and there are no plans or recipes to know how to craft something. But the existence of wikis, forums and trade websites make the system sometimes a little frustrating and unnecessary.

Grinding - High level content focuses on grinding fundamentally; objects that allow players to access instantiated dungeons in which to obtain equipment and weapons of the highest level.

Disconnections - The game, since launch, suffers with some problems of desynchronization and occasional disconnections. The effect is very similar to lag, and can make the experience difficult (especially in PvP).

More action than history - Although the setting is incredible, the stories of the missions are not particularly good (although there are exceptions), which makes the game waver a bit in its RPG aspect. Path of Exile focuses, more than anything, on action combat.

Lord's Labyrinth - A high-level map recently incorporated into the game in which every day zones are generated in a random way, where players face traps and enemies to unlock their Ascension class. On paper it's great, but taken to the practice not so much. It is too long, inconsistently difficult and boring because of repetitiveness.
